Jackson County Transportation Plan
The Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization (GHMPO) has partnered with Jackson County and retained RS&H to develop a new transportation plan for the County. Jackson County's previous roads plan was prepared in 2008. Considering the ten-year time that has passed and the growth Jackson County has experienced over this time period, the County feels it needs to reassess its transportation network and then come up with a multi-modal plan for the next 30 years. GHMPO is managing this study with Jackson County and is contributing federal transportation planning funds.
The plan will include an assessment of transportation project needs and recommendations for transportation improvements to foster a healthy, livable, and successful community. The transportation improvement recommendations may include projects such as:
- Roadway operational and capacity improvements
- Pedestrian and cycling enhancements
- Transit recommendations
The plan development process will include public involvement and solicit input from interested citizens, business owners, and all stakeholders in the community. You are able to provide input throughout the planning process. Our interactive PublicInput site allows you to provide comments, suggestions, and identify potential improvement areas.
The Jackson County Transportation Plan will be shaped by the members of the community. We hope you will check back often for updates and to give feedback on this important project.
